MacDermid Printing Solutions is the world’s only manufacturer of all types of photopolymer printing plates used in the packaging and newspaper flexo printing markets. For newspaper printing MacDermid makes NAPPflex plates, the industry standard for flexo printing.

Liquid Photopolymers
A variety of liquid photopolymers used to make flexographic printing plates are available for virtually any water-based ink printing application. The economic and ecologic advantages of using liquid are just two benefits of using this technology. Capped liquid photopolymer plates provide excellent image reproduction. Liquid photopolymers are available in a variety of hardnesses to address specific print applications. MacDermid’s liquid photopolymers are used in the corrugated, multiwall bag, envelope, tag & label, and paper cup printing markets.

Sheet Photopolymers
MacDermid’s sheet photopolymers are used to make flexographic plates for the printing of all types of flexible packaging, labels, folding cartons, envelopes, books, newspapers, and paper plates and cups. NAPPflex sheet photopolymer plates are used to print newspapers. With a variety of products designed for all types of high quality print reproduction, MacDermid’s sheet photopolymers are industry standards throughout the world.

Digital Photopolymers
The future is digital. Whether it is due to workflow improvements or the need for even higher quality printing, digital plates are gaining in market share. With an integrated mask on the surface of the plate, digital plates eliminate the need for film. MacDermid Printing Solutions offers a variety of digital plates for all printing applications. The first and only company to make a capped digital plate, MacDermid’s Digital EPIC takes all of the benefits of the EPIC plate and delivers it in a digital format. Other digital plates are available for standard and thermal processing.

Thermally Processed Photopolymer Plates
Providing our customers the products they want has always been the guiding principle for MacDermid. With our new LAVA thermal processing system, photopolymer plates are available that can be processed thermally or in conventional solvent. The added benefit of a plate that can be processed in either system allows maximum flexibility to the customer.

Photopolymer Plates for Newspapers
MacDermid’s NAPPflex photopolymer plates are the industry leaders for flexographic printing. The superior color quality and no ink rub-off characteristics of flexographically printed newspapers is gaining a lot of interest in the market. As customers approach new press purchasing decisions, flexo, as a printing technology is getting attention. We manufacture several different plate types for the flexo printing of newspapers, and have recently introduced a computer to plate system for the manufacture of flexo printing plates.
