What started out as the Printing Products Division of WR Grace and the Graphic Arts business of Hercules Incorporated, today’s MacDermid Printing Solutions has grown into an international company making photopolymer plates and offset blankets in manufacturing sites in the US, Europe and the Pacific Rim. With over 1000 employees located around the world, MacDermid Printing Solutions is a global leader in the development, manufacturing, marketing and servicing of these products.

MacDermid acquired the Electronics and Printing Products Division of Hercules Incorporated in 1995, adding photopolymer plate technology to complement their electronics focused business. The year before, a group of managers from the WR Grace Printing Products Division took their business private, forming Polyfibron Technologies. With the addition of Rollin and Jager in Europe, Axcyl, NAPP Systems, and Supratech in the following several years, Polyfibron became a major player in the printing market. In December of 1999, Polyfibron merged with MacDermid creating MacDermid Printing Solutions.
