Ajax Fasteners is Australia's largest manufacturer and distributor of quality industrial fasteners. Bolt making was established by William McPherson in Victoria, Australia in 1904 under the brand name Acme which was later changed to Ajax. In 1997 Ajax undertook a major refurbishment and relocated to a purpose built factory in Braeside. As a key local producer, Ajax has participated in a number of key infrastructure projects including the Sydney Harbor Bridge, the MCG Southern Stand and the Sydney Aquatic Centre for the 2000 Olympics.
Also in 1997, Ajax founded the Ajax Technology Centre to research and develop identified opportunities where improved fasteners (or systems) have the potential to deliver substantive benefits. Since then, 16 patents have been produced on various fastening systems including the Smartbolt.
Ajax also enjoy flexibility and cost control by utilising the company’s in-house annealing, electroplating and mechanical plating facilities, providing corrosion resistant finishes for fasteners. |
