MacDermid's patented Blackhole technology has become the industry leader in the area of direct metallization. MacDermid has over 13 years of production experience, and processes 10s of millions of square feet annually. This horizontal technology has fewer process steps, is easier to control than electroless copper, and is environmentally friendly. The stable chemistry lends itself to short run production or high volume through put. The versatility of this direct plate system means that it is applicable for a wide variety of materials, technologies and constructions. Flex circuits to double sided to mutlilayer technologies can be run through the same process without modification.

Eclipse
MacDermid's latest direct plate process, "ECLIPSE" builds on our years of production experience to develop a new process with increased propagation and reduced microetch for thinner copper foils. The "ECLIPSE" process combines changes in desmear, with new dispersion technology and reduced microetching to yield a high technology capable process for the future.
